Region 4 REPORT
Rock Steady

This summer saw some changes among the Region’s state presidents. Wayne Watkins, a past Georgia State President, stepped up to do the job again. Rex Moody from Mississippi was state vice president and is now the state president. I am looking forward to working with the new state presidents, as well as those who were re-elected.

Region 4 is growing slowly but steadily. Mississippi now has three chapters and will soon have two more. Florida is starting to prepare for the Leadership Conference in Orlando in 2010. They are very excited and are planning lots of great activities. Alabama, Georgia, and Puerto Rico continue to do great things.

We have chapters very close to military bases. They do everything they can to insure that returning soldiers are welcomed home. Those chapters’ members go out in all sorts of weather and at all times of the day and night to let those soldiers know that they are appreciated.

We have chapters that have adopted units and send them food and other items during their deployment. The soldiers have told the chapters that the packages make them feel closer to home. I urge all chapters to adopt a serving military unit. As the holiday season approaches, please remember our troops in harm’s way.
