Alamo Chapter 366:
Alive And Flourishing

San Antonio, Texas, Alamo Chapter 366 is alive and well. After almost losing it charter, the chapter has flourished under the leadership of President Daniel Medrano and Secretary Bruce Hill. With more than eighty members, the chapter is well known in San Antonio and the surrounding community. Chapter 366 has participated in parades in Austin and in the San Antonio area. Most recently, the chapter donated $250 to the San Antonio Food Bank to help feed the victims of Hurricane Ike. The chapter also donated $500 to the Texas VFW Women's Auxiliary to support the Wounded Warrior Project.

The third Thursday of every month, chapter members prepare and serve meals to injured servicemen and their families at Brooks Army Medical Center. Additionally, the chapter donates $100 each month to defray the cost of the food.

At the request of the San Antonio Fiesta Commission, Chapter 366 hosts the annual ceremony to honor all veterans at Veterans’ Plaza—site of the San Antonio Vietnam Veterans Memorial. This year, more than 150 people attended the ceremony, including officers of the armed forces. The speaker at the event was highly decorated Vietnam veteran and Medal of Honor recipient Gen. Pat Brady.
