Two of VVA’s National Capital area chapters, Northern Virginia Chapter 227 and Washington, D.C., Chapter 958, are hosting social events that are open to all Vietnam veterans and other visitors to the 25th Anniversary celebration of the dedication of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington over Veterans Day Weekend. If you’re looking for a good meal at a good price and the chance to meet fellow Vietnam veterans, look no further.

Newly formed Chapter 958 will hold a Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Dinner Dance on Friday, November 9, at 7 p.m. at the NDW Catering and Conference Center, 1454 Parsons Ave., S.E. at the Washington Navy Yard. The cost is $50 for a complete dinner buffet. For more information, call Thomas Kent at 202-391-2151.

Chapter 227’s 19th annual DMZ to Delta Dance will take place following the big VVA- sponsored parade on Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Rosslyn Holiday Inn, 1900 N. Ft. Meyer Dr. in Arlington, Virginia, from 8 p.m. to midnight. Admission is $30 per person for this fund-raising event, which includes a cash bar, dancing, finger food, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, free parking, collectibles, and veteran camaraderie.

There’s a pre-dance warm-up beginning at 7 p.m. with cash bar and hors d’oeuvres in the hotel’s Dogwood Room. For more info, call the chapter at 703-912-1681, contact Jim Hewitt at 571-221-5565,, or go to
