AVVA REPORT

Settling In

BY MARY MILLER, AVVA NATIONAL PRESIDENT

Members of the new Board of Directors have been settling into their responsibilities. We have named the chairs for the following committees: Policy & Procedure: Executive Officers with all the Regionals as part of the committee; Bylaws: Debby Cleghorn; Membership: Linda Haberkorn; Legislative: Nancy S. Switzer; Coping Skills: Nancy S. Switzer; Finance: Nancy Montgomery; Long-range Planning: Mary Yeomans; Scholarships: Judy Vargo; Disciplinary: Patsy Varnell; Website/Talklist: Sonja Holybee; Awards: Judy Bolio; Fundraising: Sonja Holybee and Nancy Montgomery; Paper Safes: Executive Officers; Election: Kathy Andras; Project Friendship: Sonja Holybee and Mary Miller; Public Relations: Fran Davis and Sonja Holybee; Flag Committee: Elaine Simmons.

It has been a busy time for Joyce Koprowski, who is affiliated with Chapter 195 in Florida. She has been working alongside VVA members Tom Hall, John Koprowski, and our own Mary Yeomans to name just a few. They have been collecting and buying supplies for hurricane victims. In Tom Hall’s words, Joyce is top-notch in buying supplies. Joyce is going one step further by thinking ahead to December. She would like to have baby blankets for all the new little ones and the ability to replace toys destroyed in the hurricanes. Resources are sparse and the need is great. Any donations of blankets, yarn, fabric, and toys for boys and girls of all ages and monetary contributions would be appreciated. Send items to:

Across the nation, VVA and AVVA work together. Florida is an example of what we do as a team.

Together Always!
