BY CAROL SCHETROMPF, DIRECTOR

While the delegates of Region 4 are busy getting ready for the Convention, the chapters are busy with other projects. The Florida State Council already is planning some great things for the 2010 Leadership Conference in Orlando. That Conference should prove to be one of the best.

Some of the chapters are preparing to participate in various Fourth of July activities. The Hinesville, Georgia, chapter will be cooking and serving food to the troops at Fort Stewart, Georgia.  This is something that the chapter has done for the past few years. The Savannah chapter has been working with other veterans groups to raise money for a monument honoring all service personnel in all branches of the military. The Tupelo, Mississippi, chapter has a few activities planned for the next couple of months. The Tupelo chapter doesn’t miss any festivals or fairs in their area. Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Puerto Rico all have their state council meetings in June.

With the national elections at the Convention, I would like to thank all of the members of Region 4 for their help and support. It really has been a pleasure to serve you. These past two years seem to have flown by. I have learned so much from all of you.
