Vinson Alan Adams died February 2 in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 60. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1971, having served a tour of duty in Vietnam with the 4th Infantry Division. He was shot by a sniper and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star among a host of other medals. Adams was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Lawton Chapter 751.

Remo Apollonio died of brain cancer March 15 in Tarrytown, New York, at the age of 59. He served in the U.S. Army with a tour in Vietnam from October 1969-70. Apollonio was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Pleasantville Chapter 49.

Francis J. Ballard died from cardiac arrest December 24, 2005, in Jamestown, New York, at the age of 58. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from July 1966-70. Ballard was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Jamestown Chapter 865.

Roland S. Barnes died May 30, 2005, in Petersham, Massachusetts. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Leominster Chapter 116.

Marcos Barrocas died from colon cancer September 7, 2005, in Key Biscayne, Florida, at the age of 68. He served in the U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968 and was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Miami Chapter 620.

Cindy Bartoneu died February 10 in Trent Woods, North Carolina, at the age of 53. She was a member of Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America-New Bern Chapter 866.

William E. Beatty died June 4, 2004, in Grove City, Pennsylvania, at the age of 55. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and an at-large member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Pennsylvania.

Donald Allen Bille died May 26, 2005, in Newark, New Jersey, at the age of 62. The cause of death was heart failure, acute alcoholism, malnutrition, organ failure, and AIDS. He served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps from July 1965 to February 1970 with a tour in Vietnam as a medical-surgical nurse. Bille was an at-large member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Delaware.

James R. Bird died recently in Homosassa, Florida, at the age of 60. He served in the U.S. Navy from December 1968 to August 1970 with a tour in Vietnam. Bird was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Florissant (Missouri) Chapter 794.

Sheryl Schaeffer “Sheri” Bowen died March 9 in Junction City, Kansas, at the age of 45. She was a member of Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America-Junction City Chapter 344.

Michael A. Bowman died June 24, 2001, in Grants Pass, Oregon. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Grants Pass Chapter 867.

Robert F. Brainard died October 23, 2005, in Sun City, Arizona. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Phoenix Chapter 432.

Donald A. Bredeson died February 25, 2004, in Mason City, Iowa, at the age of 71. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 7, 1949, and had two tours of duty in Vietnam. Bredeson was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Lake Mills Chapter 790.

Frederick J. Bunce died February 15 in Lakewood, Ohio, at the age 61. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1972 with service in Vietnam. Bunce was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Bay Village Chapter 249.

Robert Burns died recently in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and an at-large life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Oklahoma.

Richard C. Coughlan died from organ failure February 18 in Blairstown, New Jersey, at the age of 61. He served in the U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. Coughlan was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Stanhope Chapter 327.

Douglas Roy Creighton died March 3 in South Dakota at the age of 57. He served in the U.S. Army from March 1965 to November 1968 with a tour of duty in Vietnam. Creighton was an at-large member in South Dakota.

Glenn Merle Cunningham died of kidney cancer February 2 in Newark, Ohio, at the age of 60. He served in the U.S. Air Force from July 1963 to December 1966, and served in Thailand during the Vietnam War as a medic. Cunningham was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Newark Chapter 55.

Percell Hayward Daniels, Jr., died February 21 in Philadelphia at the age of 57. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star with “V” device for valor and two Purple Hearts. Daniels was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Liberty Bell (Philadelphia) Chapter 266.

Gary W. Dodd died of complications from diabetes mellitis type II February 8 in Junction City, Kansas, at the age of 58. He served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. Dodd was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Junction City Chapter 344.

Ken Duncan died June 25, 2005, in Whitestown, Indiana, at the age of 61. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Lawrence Chapter 295.

Charles Thomas “Tom” Easterly died after an automobile accident June 15, 2005, in Hurricane, West Virginia, at the age of 65. He was commissioned by the U.S. Army in 1965 and served one and half years in Vietnam as a Green Beret, Paratrooper, and a Psychological Operations Officer. He was awarded the Bronze Star. Easterly was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Blue-Gray (Princeton) Chapter 628.

James Edgeworth, Jr., died March 6 in Milford, Connecticut. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Milford Chapter 251.

Ramon Fuentes died of heart failure November 20, 2005, in Miami, Florida, at the age of 61. He served in the U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. Fuentes was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Miami Chapter 620.

David Ralph Furlong died December 24, 2005, in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 56. He served in the U.S. Army with two tours of duty in Vietnam as an Airborne Ranger. Furlong was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Guam Chapter 668.

Owen P. Gies died in January in Lenox, Michigan. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Roseville Chapter 154.

Charles Richard Gill died February 10 in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 58. He served in the U.S. Army for 22 years retiring at the rank of First Sergeant with service in Vietnam. Gill was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Lawton Chapter 751.

Gary Grossheim died recently in Winchester, Ohio. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was an at-large life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Ohio.

Michael Ray Hilbert died from a massive heart attack February 17 in the Philippines at the age of 58. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam and was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Philippines Chapter 887. Hilbert was the first president of Chapter 887 from 2001 to 2003.

Richard Baldwin “Dutch” Hoogstraten died of cancer February 16 in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 69. He served in the U.S. Army from May 1962 to 1984, distinguishing himself as an artillery officer with tours in Vietnam and Korea. He was awarded the Silver Star of Valor. Hoogstraten was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Williamsburg Chapter 957.

Ben Keeley died February 27 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, at the age of 59. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 and retired in 1986 at the rank of Master Sergeant. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968. Keeley was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Panhandle (Coeur d’Alene) Chapter 673.

Jerry Kit died December 9, 2005, in Warren, Michigan, at the age of 57. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Roseville Chapter 154.

Myron F. “Tim” Lagomarsino died February 20 in Paso Robles, California, at the age of 69. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era and was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Bluffton (Indiana) Chapter 698.

Charles Gus Lee II died March 26 in Lockhart, Texas, at the age of 56. He served in the U.S. Army as a radio operator during the Vietnam War. Lee was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Austin Chapter 915.

John Ivan Lewanick died of a heart attack December 14, 2005, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 56. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Henderson Chapter 17.

Kenneth H. Lewis died May 13, 2005, in Manassas, Virginia, at the age of 59. The cause of death was Agent-Orange related. He served in the U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam from February 1968-69. Lewis was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Sault Sainte Marie Chapter 180.

Donnie Lee Lowe died of a massive heart attack February 21 in Cedar Bluff, Virginia, at the age of 55. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Among his awards was the Bronze Star. Lowe was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Blue-Gray (Princeton, West Virginia) Chapter 628.

Henry Rodriguez Lupercio died of cancer February 27 in Cutler, California, at the age of 60. He served in the U.S. Army with a tour in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. Lupercio was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Dinuba Chapter 643.

Richard A. MacNeilly died in 2001 in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, at the age of
72. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was an at-large member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Minnesota.

Edward R. Manizak died recently in Dearborn, Michigan, at the age of 61. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Lapeer Chapter 287.

Robert A. Maranville died December 12, 2005, in Rutland, Vermont, at the age of 60. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Rutland Chapter 1.

Michael Riley Martin died August 2, 2005, in Petersburg, Michigan, at the age of 58. He served in the U.S. Navy from February 1966-72, with a tour of duty in Vietnam in 1969. Martin was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Monroe Chapter 142.

Robert W. Maury died of pancreatic cancer January 23 in Taylor, Pennsylvania, at the age of 56. He served in the U.S. Army from July 1968 to April 1971, with a tour of duty in Vietnam. Maury was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Stroudsburg Chapter 678.

Edward T. McKenna III died February 24 in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, at the age of 61. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. McKenna was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Liberty Bell (Philadelphia) Chapter 266.

Charles P. McLaughlin died March 14 in Narbeth, Pennsylvania, at the age
of 79. He was a member of Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America-Glenside Chapter 590.

Rodney A. Metzler died of a heart attack March 12 in San Marcos, Texas, at the age of 71. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Chaplain Corps from April 1966 to February 1975 with a tour in Vietnam. Metzler was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-San Marcos Chapter 923.

Thomas F. Mikan committed suicide January 20 in Saint Albans, Vermont, at the age of 63. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-St. Albans Chapter 753.

Glen R. Mueller died January 17 in Cumberland, Maryland, at the age of 75. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Cumberland Chapter 172.

Gary F. Osborne died November 7, 2004, in Mount Lookout, West Virginia, at the age of 58. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Hico Chapter 860.

Robert A. “Pops” Pauls died of pancreatic cancer February 12 in Nevada City, California, at the age of 77. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 25 years. He served a tour in Vietnam and was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Grass Valley Chapter 535.

Ruben Pedroza died January 26 in El Paso, Texas, at the age of 69. He served in the U.S. Navy with a tour in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 with the Sea Bees. Pedroza was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-El Paso Chapter 574.

William Joseph Pell died in the fall of 2005 in Tomah, Wisconsin, at the age of 57. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam and was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Wausau Chapter 479.

Leo Petahtegoose died recently in Maidstone, Ontario Province, Canada, at the age of 58. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Roseville Chapter 154.

Valerie Petrocelli died of breast cancer February 6 in Newfoundland, Pennsylvania, at the age of 67. She was a member of Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America-Stroudsburg Chapter 678.

Lee Earl Poppe, Jr., died of a heart attack January 23 in Weimar, Texas, at the age of 60. He served in U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. Poppe was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Schulenburg Chapter 870.

Gilbert Rosario died February 5 in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 57. He served in the U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam. Rosario was a life member
of Vietnam Veterans of America-Lawton Chapter 751.

Richard Rosenstein died recently in Hudson, Wisconsin, at the age of 56.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and
was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Wheaton (Illinois) Chapter 693.

Mitchell E. Rupe died recently in Walla Walla, Washington, at the age of 51. He served in the U.S. Army from June 1974 to December 1980 during the Vietnam era. Rupe was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Walla Walla Chapter 735.

Anthony F. Scaritto died recently in North Adams, Massachusetts. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-North Adams Chapter 54.

Elmer Ray Sumner, Jr., died of a heart attack February 7 in Galax, Virginia, at the age of 57. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from July 1969-1970 with C Company, 5th Battalion, 12th Infantry of the 199th Light Infantry Brigade. Among his awards was the Purple Heart. Sumner was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Galax Chapter 710.

William M. Terlosky died December 30, 2005, in Fleming, Ohio, at the age of 63. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was an at-large member of Vietnam Veterans of America-West Virginia.

Dennis Robert Thornton died of heart failure February 3 in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 57. He served in the U.S. Army from May 1968 to May 1970 during the Vietnam era. Thornton was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Celina Chapter 783.

Richard M. Viohl died October 18, 2005, in Pomona, New York, at the age of 58. The cause of death was multisystem organ failure due to septic shock due to ischemic bowel due to severe atheroselerotic vascular disease. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. Viohl was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-New City Chapter 333.

Thomas Joseph Voss died February 6 in Mount Clemens, Michigan, at the age of 58. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Voss was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Roseville Chapter 154.

Michael Wallen died November 20, 2005, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, at the age of 62. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Ponca City Chapter 750.

Argust A. Wampler, Jr., died January 3 in Monroe, Michigan, at the age of 57. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from August 1966-1969. Wampler was a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America-Monroe Chapter 142.
