Vietnam Veterans of America introduces the first national collaboration between veterans and the private sector to address the glaring need for better outreach to veterans, their families, and the healthcare community to improve the health of veterans.

As many as 80 percent of veterans do not use the Department of Veterans Affairs for their healthcare, often because they don’t know that their health problems may be related to their military service. The purpose of the Veterans Health Council--the first national veterans and private sector collaboration—is to educate veterans, their families, and healthcare providers about long-term health risks associated with military service and the care and benefits to which veterans are entitled.

Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) is the nation's only congressionally chartered veterans service organization dedicated to the needs of Vietnam-era veterans and their families.  VVA's founding principle is “Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another.”
