Vietnam Veterans of America Endorses Snowball Express

(Washington, D.C.)--Vietnam Veterans of America is proud to endorse Snowball Express, the nation’s largest gathering of military widows, widowers, and their children who have lost a husband or wife since 9/11 in the war on terrorism.

Snowball Express 2008, scheduled to take place December 16-19 in Orange County, California, will provide a weekend of entertainment for over 1,000 children and their surviving parents. Financing for this weekend of fun will come entirely from donated funds.

“The mission of Snowball Express, to create new memories and a few days of joy for those whose lives have been shattered by the loss of a loved one, is noble. Through our network of over 600 chapters located in communities across the nation, in Guam, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, and the Virgin Islands, we intend to help spread the word about this special week for the children of the fallen. We want to make sure that no child is left out because the word has not reached their families,” said John Rowan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Vietnam Veterans of America.

In December 2007, Snowball Express brought together more than 750 children and 360 surviving parents in Orange County, California, from all over the U.S, and as far away as Italy, Japan, and the U.K, for an all-expense-paid weekend which included dinner and a live concert with Gary Sinese, a day at Oakley Ranch, and a trip to Disneyland.
