WHO: Vietnam Veterans of America

WHAT: A rally to call attention to the inadequacy of the proposed budget for the medical programs of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

WHEN: Saturday, April 30, 2005, at 3:00 p.m.

WHERE: Upper Senate Park on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.

VVA National President Thomas H. Corey, Retired Army General George Price, and other prominent veterans’ advocates, including veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, will address a large gathering of veterans and others on the 30th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War.

The speakers will stress that the proposed VA budget does not meet the needs of veterans, including the thousands of new veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan who are returning with physical and psychological problems.

Following the event, at 6:00 pm, VVA will hold a solemn ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial honoring those who died in the Vietnam War.
