(Washington, D.C.) – Vietnam Veterans of America's (VVA) Household Goods Program, the organization's main funding mechanism, has added a new feature in its Colorado operations: donation trailers in communities. The new trailers are in addition to the organization's longstanding practice of picking up clothing and household items at individual homes.

"This will make it easier for folks to donate items," said VVA national President Thomas H. Corey. "We work every day for the rights, benefits, and services that America's veterans have earned by serving our country. We have been able to fund many of these services through the generosity of people who donate to our Household Goods Program.

"We are adding this new feature to help us continue this work. We ask people who have clothing and household items to donate to call our toll-free number, and we will either schedule a pickup or direct them to the nearest VVA donation trailer.

"VVA works with 68 affiliated thrift stores in 29 states. The toll-free number is 800-775-8387. For additional information, a public service announcement is available at

Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) is the nation's only congressionally chartered veterans service organization dedicated to the needs of Vietnam-era veterans and their families.  VVA's founding principle is “Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another.”
