VIETNAM VETERAN LEADERS FROM ACROSS THE NATION
IN WASHINGTON, DC TO MARK 2002 VETERANS DAY

(Washington, D.C) – Vietnam veteran leaders from around the nation have come to Washington to take part in special Veterans Day activities marking the 20th anniversary of the dedication of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

The veterans—national officers, national board of directors, members, and national committee chairs—are meeting today at the headquarters of Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) in Silver Spring, Maryland. They will take part in the VVA-sponsored March to Remember, the kickoff event of the Washington, D.C., Veterans Day activities, beginning at 9:00 am on Monday, November 11 at 7th and Constitution Avenues.

All the officers, board members and committee chairs are available for media interviews. They may be contacted through the VVA Communications Department.

Other Veterans Day events near The Wall include unit reunions, concerts, and receptions. VVA will sponsor information centers and a hospitality tent just off Constitution Avenue near the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. For more information go to http://www.vva.org/veterans_day2002
