Vietnam Veterans of America President Thomas H. Corey
announced today that the organization, in cooperation with Sen. John D.
Rockefeller IV, will sponsor a photo exhibit November 4-8 in the Senate
Russell Office Building Rotunda. The exhibit will consist of 40 photographs
taken over the last twenty years by VVA staff photographer Michael Keating.
photos are amazingly evocative and provide vivid images of the Vietnam
veterans movement, of which VVA has played a large role, and the history of
the Vietnam Veterans Memorial,” Corey said. “We are particularly proud of
Michael Keating’s work. Michael has for many years taken countless memorable
photographs of veterans, of The Wall, and of other veteran-related
activities, primarily for our newspaper, The VVA Veteran. We are
proud and pleased to share a portion of his work with the public.”
The exhibit is free and open to the public. This Veterans Day
VVA joins the nation in commemorating the twentieth anniversary of the
dedication of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Among other activities, VVA
will sponsor a March to Remember along Constitution Avenue beginning at 9:00
am on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11.
