BENNINGTON MAN WINS VIETNAM VETERANS OF AMERICA’S
2001 MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARD

John Miner of Bennington, Vermont, received Vietnam Veterans of America’s 2001 Member of the Year Award at that organization’s 10th National biennial Convention in Greensboro, North Carolina.

“We are honoring John for his many years of dedication to Vietnam Veterans of America on the local, state, and national levels,” said VVA President George Duggins as he presented the award on the Convention floor. “He was a founding member of Chapter 601 in Bennington and since then he’s been a devoted and untiring contributor, volunteer and sparkplug.”

Duggins also cited Miner’s other accomplishments; including helping start Vietnam Veterans of America’s Vermont State Council.  He is also VVA’s Region 1 Director. Miner works for the State of Vermont where he is the veterans’ liaison to the Vermont Veterans Home.

Miner’s wife, Joyce, and their son were on hand at the convention to celebrate the occasion.
