VIETNAM VETERANS OF AMERICA GAIN COMMITMENT
FROM SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
Vietnam Veterans of America's National President George C. Duggins and
Director of Government Relations Richard F. Weidman gained commitment to
increase assistance to veterans from the U.S. Small Business Administration
(SBA) on November 9, 1998.
In a meeting conducted by the Administrator of the SBA, Aida Alvarez,
the Veterans Affairs Task Force for Entrepreneurship received recommendations
from President Duggins who was the representative spokesperson for the
veterans service organizations in attendance,. Ms. Alvarez said during
the meeting, "The SBA has made a strateginc commitment to ensure that the
doors of economic opportunity and business ownership are open to those
who have done so much tomake this country strong." "Veterans who
wish to start or expand their businesses have the full support of the SBA.
These recommendations will serve as a catalyst for SBA's new veterans'
initiative,." Ms. Alvarez said.
